New Family Member

We adopted a young shelter dog a little over a week ago: ChaCha. She a mystery mix of Lab and something else, but she is very cute and extremely smart. Of course it turned out to be WAY more work than we anticipated since she needed some basic obedience training and to fit in with the family. She is very high-energy, so we've been giving her lots of exercise. I snapped these photos on a hike we took a week ago, although she dosn't hold still often.
Here is a short video from the hike...

She's cute, congrats!  How does she get along with dude?

You are daring taking a new dog on a hike...how could you be sure she would stay with you?  Is she that attached already?

What a cutie! I love her markings! I remember the fun/challenge of a new dog :-) All the work will be worth it in the end.

She sure is pretty. How old is she? Will we get to meet her?

ChaCha is 1 1/2 years old, spayed and housebroken. For the moment though, she is very bossy with Dude and likes to chase the cat. So we have some work to do there. But with other things, she is VERY quick to learn although we have lots of basic training ahead. She didn't know the basics. Right now, it's like a full-time job. Shannon, I hope you are right about it being worth the work. Feels a bit daunting at the moment. Dude is doing great and really trying to get along. The cat is another story ;-)
